-- A Genealogical
Database of Over 400,000 Individuals --
- Celebrating our seventeenth year on the Internet -
- Database updated on 20 September 2014 -
Today we reached over
400,000 individuals in our database. Each name, along with sources,
dates, places, etc., has been entered by hand by Dick Weber, our developer.
Dick has striven for accuracy and consistency. Thank you, Dick.
Due to the ease that websites can be
datamined, scraped, etc., such as with the software aptly named SiteSucker,
recently championed in a popular genealogical newsletter, I have determined
that it is now necessary to close down this website each evening,
from about 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (E.D.T.). I apologize
to one and all for having to do this. I cannot keep an eye at night
on those who intend to grab all that we have made available for free
since 1996. I am looking for software that will preclude massive downloads
and when I obtain it, things will return to what they were and this
website will once again be open 24 hours a day.
