Notes: Rodborough is a civil parish in the district of Stroud,Gloucestershire, in Southwest England. It is directly southof the town of Stroud, north of the town of Nailsworth andnorth-west of the village of Minchinhampton. The parishincludes the settlements of Bagpath (not to be confusedwith Bagpath in the Ozleworth valley), Butterrow,Kingscourt, Lightpill and Rooksmoor, and is adjacent to theStroud suburb of Dudbridge. The population taken at the2011 census was 5,334.[

Built on a hill, Rodborough village is near RodboroughCommon, a public recreation area popular with walkers. Mostof the common land was donated to the National Trust in1937 by Thomas Bainbrigge Fletcher (1878–1950), anentomologist. It is little known that this was dependent ona subscription fund of £700 being raised to pay for themaintenance and upkeep of the common.[2] On the common isRodborough Fort, a folly built in 1761 that is now aprivate house
